Abuse in the name of freedom of speech

I talked to a friend late in the evening to join me on www.msnsite.com so that we may remain in touch after the closure of facebook. I told him that its the 1st Muslim social network launched after the closure of the facebook for social networking open for every one to join for free and as a Muslim we have a code of ethics to respect each and every single person's sentiments what ever his or her faith may be.

I am shocked with the reply i received, gentleman said,"i am a broad minded person and I beleive in the freedom of speech and I like facebook."

I thought to address to all such friends who are so called believers of the freedom of speech.

O my friends, remember the words of Almighty,as HE said in Surah Al Hujrat," O you who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet or be loud to him in speech like the loudness of some of you to others, lest your deeds become worthless while you perceive not.Indeed, those who lower their voices before the Messenger of Allah - they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for righteousness. For them is forgiveness and great reward.Indeed, those who call you, [O Muhammad], from behind the chambers - most of them do not use reason. And if they had been patient until you [could] come out to them, it would have been better for them. But Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful."

This is what we have been taught by Almighty how to pay respect to the prophet.

For the sake of argument, let us put all the religion aside;which religion or the law allows any one to hurt the sentiments of a community comprising one forth of the world population.I wish to ask a question to all my so called broad minded friends,if some one abuses you, your parents or your loved ones, will you allow him abusing in the name of freedom of speech? Of course, NO. We all have been liking facebook and has been its user. We appreciate facebook closure in Islamic countries because I am hurt. And we appreciate the launch of the www.msnsite.com as 1st Muslim social Network. we will respect sentiments of every single person in the world regardless of his Faith. We are Muslims and I believe we are the most broad minded people.
