PAKISTANI AMERICANCONGRESS
PRESS RELEASE
NEW YORK (June 14, 2011): The Pakistani American Congress(PAC), an umbrella organization of several Pakistani American Organizations in the US, is holding its 19th Annual US-Pakistan Friendship Day at the Capitol Hill, Rayburn House Office Building, Room 318, from 12 PM to 5 PM on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. The Guest of Honor for this event will be Honorable Congresswomen Allyson Schwartz from Pennsylvania. This is prime event at the Hill and normally several Congressmen and Senators attend this conference every year. Many scholars from various US think tanks and community activists will also present their view point during this conference. Due to prevailing conditions in that part of the world the forum will provide an ample opportunity for a productive discussion between scholars, politicians and community members. This was stated by Dr. Muhammad Akram, President of PAC.
PAC seeks to promote US-Pakistan friendship, goodwill and understanding. Both countries cannot afford any conflict while fighting terrorism. Mutual trust and close strategic partnership between the two countries is more needed now than ever before. The U.S. must be cognizant that Pakistan has lost more lives in the war against terrorism than all coalition forces. PAC therefore urges governments in both countries to exercise restraint in order to immediately stop further damage in bilateral relations.
